Tom’s Round-Up of 2011
Tom’s round up of 2011, which despite some terrible news from Japan, was an amazing year for Studio 10A, and even though we thought our friends in Tokyo wouldn’t be mounting SummerSonic, it went ahead and amazingly sold out only five months after the disaster. Two Shows One Venue - Celtic Soul!
In September Celtic Woman was the first of two shows that we worked on this year at the famous Fox Theater in Atlanta, it was a show destined for PBS, to be shown mostly during pledge drives. Celtic Woman is a fantastic organization and act to work for, beautiful women with beautiful voices and a non-stop show that succeeds in pushing every button and a commitment to exceed every production value.
In November , just two months later we came again for the 2011 Soul train Awards, and even though last year was a great show for us, I really felt that had we done the screen content we would have taken it to another level, and this year… this year we produced all the screen content and yes… I believe we really did take it to an unbelievably higher level.

National Tree Lighting 2010
Last week we were in DC with Alex Colletti Productions for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree located on The Ellipse just in front of the White House. It was certainly cold enough, but we had a great week getting the stage ready for Mr and Mrs Obama and the family to come and light the tree and enjoy the outdoor concert which went out on PBS over the weekend. We even got a tour of the White House the morning after the show - a wonderful opportunity to see the amazing Christmas decorations that fill every room.

STUDIO 10A ON TRACK WITH SOUL TRAIN!
This year’s Soul Train Awards, held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta were an absolute blast. Having the luxury of working in such a superb and convenient venue with great staff and a fine crew was a key reason why this year’s event went so smoothly and so enjoyably. Plus the talent on stage was brilliant, from R Kelly’s riveting opening to CeeLo’s totally over the top and spectacular delivery of the notorious F-word song (we had the sanitized version) that went viral earlier this year, this was a night to remember and one that with so many fine performances will make great television.
