Celtic Woman PBS

This show, primarily produced as a DVD to become the perfect premium for Pledge Breaks on PBS was shot at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.  The set was a combination of Atomic Rental soft goods and a deck configuration that provided plenty of places for the artists to enter and exit.  It’s a fast moving show with smooth transitions between anything from a virtuoso solos performance to full-on productions numbers that might feature any or all ingredients of orchestra, massed pipers, a local children’s choir, the ladies and gentlemen of Celtic Woman’s own chorus, Gaelic dancing and the four Celtic ladies themselves, so with one song finishing another one beginning the whole show has to be one seamless choreography.  My inspiration for the design was grounded in a sort of Victorian Art Nouveau, but with a very feminine emphasis, the essential intention being to provide a sensual backdrop for four very beautiful and sensual women.  Aided and abetted by Tom Kenny’s sumptuous lighting, with wonderful camera work, show choreography and costume design this was a fabulous show where all the components coalesced perfectly to create a truly magical show.  And, being a pledge drive piece, if you should happen turn on PBS this season, it might be difficult to miss it!
